HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team competed at the Marshall Alumni Classic on Saturday, January 10, in Huntington, West Virginia.
The Blue Raiders had several strong performances. Promise Amasiatu won the 60 meters with a time of 7.62 seconds and the 200 meters in 25.37, earning NAIA "B" standard marks in the 60 meters.
Hannah Reid finished fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.73 seconds.
In the field events,
Selena Johnson took second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.70 meters hitting a NAIA "B" standard, while
Rosemond Owusu finished second in the high jump at 1.65 meters and fourth in the long jump with 5.53 meters.
Elaina Holliday finished third in the long jump with 5.68 meters, setting a new personal record and marking a NAIA "B" standard performance.
Reagan Cheatham placed third in the shot put with a mark of 12.34 meters.
Other top finishes included
Chenessa Davis placing fourth in the high jump at 1.55 meters and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles prelims, and
Destiny Barnes finishing fifth in the triple jump at 10.64 meters.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Friday and Saturday, January 16-17, at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
