GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team defeated Georgetown 35-14 on Thursday at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
The Blue Raiders won seven of the 10 weight classes with four pins, two forfeits, and a tech fall in the win.
Back-to-back forfeits at 103 and 110 pounds gave Lindsey Wilson a 10-0 lead.
Jaden Evans increased the Blue Raider lead to 15-0 with a pin in 50 seconds over Shelby Clayton at 117 pounds. Jes'Onia Barefield won the first match for Georgetown with a pin of
Kalliscya Gardner (No. 11 at 124) trimming the Lindsey Wilson advantage to 15-5.
Trinity Davis recorded a first-period pin over Anna March at 131 pounds giving Lindsey Wilson a 20-5 lead. Georgetown earned a pin at 138 pounds, while
Aenaya Vines pinned Brilynn Gemmer at 145 pounds to make it 25-10. The Tigers earned their final win at 160 pounds with a 9-4 decision.
Alyssa Pinkston recorded a 12-2 tech fall over Kaylyn Lawson at 180 pounds, while
Cheyenne Cruce pinned Jasmin Beckham at 207 to close out the dual.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday with a trip to Campbellsville to face No. 17 Campbellsville (Ky.) at 5:30 p.m. CT at the Campbellsville Wrestling Facility.
