No. 5 Women’s Wrestling Defeats No. 17 Campbellsville in Road Dual

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team defeated No. 17 Campbellsville (Ky.) 33-11 on Saturday at the Campbellsville Wrestling Facility.

The Blue Raiders dominated the Tigers, winning eight of the 10 weight classes. Lindsey Wilson recorded four pins, three decisions and a tech fall.

Emma Bauknight got the dual started with a pin over Kiley McNerney in 1:03 at 110 pounds. Jaden Evans pushed the Lindsey Wilson lead to 9-0 with a 10-0 tech fall over Addison Rudolph at 117 pounds. Grace Lashinsky (No. 5 at 117) earned a hard-fought 2-0 decision over Addison Messerly (No. 17 at 124) in the 124-pound bout. Jeila Ramos (No. 7 at 131) increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 17-0 with a 59-second pin of Oliva Messerly (No. 17 at 131).

At 138 pounds, Brielle Bibla (No. 14 at 138) earned a tough 2-1 decision over Lauren Walton to increase the Blue Raider advantage to 20-0. Kori Campbell (No. 8 at 145) earned a 3-1 decision over Gabriella Perez (No. 10 at 145). Kylee Tait (No. 13 at 160) earned the first Campbellsville win at 160 pounds with a pin of Sofia Toledo. Katelyn Lewis needed just 21 seconds to pin Desi Lee (No. 19 at 180) in the 180-pound bout. Cheyenne Cruce pinned Brianna Staebler at 207 pounds. The Tigers earned a 12-0 tech fall at 103 pounds to close out the dual.

The Blue Raiders return to action for the first day of the Warrior Open on Friday, January 23 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
