COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team continues Mid-South Conference play this week, hosting Campbellsville (Ky.) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CT inside Biggers Sports Center before traveling to Cumberland (Tenn.) on Saturday for a 3 p.m. CT matchup in Lebanon.
The Blue Raiders (14-5, 3-1 MSC) enter the week with momentum after a strong start to conference play, including wins over both Campbellsville and Cumberland earlier this month. Lindsey Wilson ranks among the conference's most efficient offenses, averaging 83.2 points per game on 48.2 percent shooting while holding opponents to 74.7 points.
The Blue Raiders also sit second in the MSC in three-point percentage 36.9 and rank at the top in free-throw percentage 74.0.
Senior guard
Kenyata Carbon continues to power the offense with 19.1 points per game on 59.2 percent shooting, along with 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.5 steals.
Julian Cunningham adds 11.5 points and leads the team with 57 assists, while
Mihail Gavazov contributes 11.5 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds.
Latrell Kyles averages 10.3 points and 4.1 rebounds off the bench, and
Victory Naboya anchors the paint with 8.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per contest.
Campbellsville (16-4, 1-3 MSC) comes into Thursday's matchup averaging 75.3 points per game while holding opponents to 67.1 points on 41.7 percent shooting. The Tigers shoot 44.9 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from three-point range, and 73.0 percent at the free-throw line. They also average 16.9 assists per game and rank near the top of the conference in ball movement and shot-blocking with 4.1 per contest.
The meeting between the two programs marks another chapter in the Battle of Highway 55, one of the Mid-South Conference's most familiar rivalries. The Tigers are led by Dalton Kramer, who averages 14.7 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 49.8 percent from the floor and 88.1 percent from the line. Jay Milburn adds 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds, and Marcellus Vail contributes 9.3 points on 53.4 percent shooting. Eli Brooks and Taveon Smith both average just over nine points per game, while Javaughn Smith provides perimeter scoring at 6.6 points per outing.
Cumberland (8-11, 0-4 MSC) closes out the weekend at home. The Phoenix average 77.8 points per game while allowing 79.4, shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from three-point range. Cumberland ranks second in the conference in rebounding at 39.1 per game and averages 8.8 steals per contest.
Triston Conger leads the Phoenix with 18.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, shooting 49 percent from the field. Michael Nwoye adds 12.8 points and 8.9 rebounds, while Nick Brunetti contributes 10.4 points and 2.9 rebounds. Zaylin Rowland averages 9.1 points, and Riggs Abner adds 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds.
