COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete
Cory Cannan has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
Cannan, of Naples, Florida, earns his first career weekly honors after going 3-0 at the Hawk Duals. He becomes the second Blue Raider to earn Men's Wrestler of the Week honors, joining
Adrian Ayala, who earned the honor on November 10.
He earned a 20-3 tech fall over Jonathon Paramore in Lindsey Wilson's 30-12 loss to No. 23 Reinhardt (Ga.). Cannan then pinned Tyler Crow in the Blue Raiders' 32-12 victory against (RV) Truett McConnell. He closed out his week with a 13-4 major decision against Connor Cooper in Lindsey Wilson's 25-18 loss to Life NWCA.
Cannan (ranked No. 12 at 184 pounds) improved to 6-0 in duals this season.
He and the Blue Raiders return to the mat on Friday for the Missouri Valley Duals in Marshall, Missouri.
