WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 25-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's wrestling team wrapped up day two of the NAIA National Championships on Friday at Heartland Credit Union Arena.

Ashton Habeil is the lone Blue Raider to advance to the All-American rounds. Habeil, the No. 9 seed in the 184-pound weight class, was defeated by the No. 1-seeded Tyson Beauperthuy, from Doane (Neb.), by an 18-4 major decision in the quarterfinals. Habeil had to win his next match to be in the top eight of the weight class. Habeil did just that, defeating the No. 6-seeded Sam Libby, from Keiser (Fla.), by an 11-4 decision. Habeil then faced the No. 4-seeded Adrian Chavez-Morales, from Southern Oregon. After being down in the first period 12-7, Habeil pinned Chavez-Morales to advance to the next consolation round. He takes on #3 Tre Morrisette of Life on Saturday morning. With a victory, Habeil wrestles for third place, while a loss sends him to the fifth-place match.

Adrian Ayala, the No. 1 seed for the 141-pound weight class, was upset by the No. 8-seeded Logan Wagner, from Marian (Ind.), via a 6-4 tiebreaker victory. Ayala would also be upset in the consolation round by the No. 14-seeded Horacio Godinez, from Evergreen (Wash.), when he was pinned in the final minute of the third period.

Cory Cannan finished 1-1 on the day, while Alex Tabor also finished 1-1. Both wrestlers would miss out on All-American status by one victory.

Entering the final day of competition, the Blue Raiders are in 22nd place overall with 21.5 points. Day three is scheduled to begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CT.
