LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team finished second out of six teams at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Championships on Monday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center, highlighted by multiple NAIA qualifying marks, a school record, and several All-Conference honors.
In the 60 meters,
Hannah Reid placed second in the prelims with a time of 7.63, hitting an NAIA "B" standard and qualifying for the finals.
Promise Amasiatu placed third in 7.72, while Jermani Moris ran 7.88 for seventh and
Charm Rone ran 7.95 for eighth, both advancing to the final round. In the finals, Amasiatu won with a time of 7.43, setting an NAIA "A" standard and earning All-Conference honors. Amasiatu's performance also earned her
Mid-South Conference Indoor Freshman of the Year, making her the third Blue Raider to receive the honor.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Chenessa Davis placed first in 8.80, hitting an NAIA "B" standard.
Isabel Urrutia Lemus finished third in 9.16. Both earned All-Conference recognition.
In the 200 meters, Amasiatu ran 24.35 to set an NAIA "A" standard, set a new school record, and earn All-Conference honors.
In the 400 meters,
Ta'shya Cramer placed third in 58.41, earning All-Conference recognition.
In the high jump,
Rosemond Owusu cleared 1.65 meters to place first and earn All-Conference honors. Owusu also competed in the long jump, placing second with a leap of 5.60 meters.
Chenessa Davis placed third with a mark of 5.55 meters. Both earned All-Conference honors.
In the shot put, Reagan Cheatman threw 12.39 meters to place first and earn All-Conference recognition.
In the relays, the 4000-meter distance medley team of
Emma Kate Emerson,
Sancia Smith,
Arianna Payne, and
Zoe Wilson placed second in 14:19.85 to earn All-Conference honors. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Ta'shya Cramer, Jermani Moris,
Promise Amasiatu, and
Sancia Smith finished first in 3:57.30, earning All-Conference recognition. The 4x800-meter relay team of Smith, Emerson, Payne, and Wilson placed third in 10:56.77, also earning All-Conference honors.
The team also celebrated major coaching honors.
Alexia DeHaven became the
first assistant coach in program history to earn Women's Indoor Coach of the Year, while head coach
Anthony Thompson became the first Blue Raider head coach to win the award since Nick Wilson in 2019.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for March 5–7 in Gainesville, Florida.
