CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The No. 24-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's wrestling team fell to No. 8 Campbellsville (Ky.) 27-17 in a Mid-South Conference dual Tuesday at Gosser Gymnasium.
Jorge Bravo gave the Blue Raiders a 3-0 lead with a 5-4 decision at 125 pounds over Aluma Enwa. Bravo earned a takedown late in the third period to come away with the decision. The Tigers took a 5-3 lead after a 19-3 tech fall at 133 pounds.
Adrian Ayala (No. 4 at 141) gave the Blue Raiders a 6-5 lead with a 4-1 decision over Nick Moore (No. 9 at 141).
Campbellsville retook the lead with a 10-1 major decision at 149 pounds to take a 9-6 lead. The Tigers took control of the match with wins at 157, 165, 174, and 184, increasing their lead to 27-6.
Standford Thompson ended the run of Campbellsville victories with a pin in the second period over Jake Heady at 197 to trim the Blue Raider deficit to 27-12.
Jaylin Bien-Aime closed out the dual with a 16-1 tech fall over Ethan Heady.
The Blue Raiders now begin preparations for the MSC Championship on February 13 at Ephram White Gym in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
