COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team split Saturday's doubleheader against (RV) Campbellsville (Ky.) at Egnew Park.
The Blue Raiders lost game one by a score of 3-1, before winning the series finale 5-3. Lindsey Wilson's record following Saturday's two games moves to 9-15 with a 1-2 Mid-South Conference record, while Campbellsville's record goes to 15-8 with a 2-1 conference record.
Game One: Lindsey Wilson 1 v. (RV) Campbellsville 3
Lindsey Wilson starting pitcher, Easton Talley, pitched extremely well. Talley went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits, while walking one and striking out six. Campbellsville's starting pitcher, Joe McBride, pitched outstandingly. McBride went six innings, allowing one run on six hits, while walking one and striking out five. Talley received his third loss of the season, bringing his record to 1-3, while McBride earned his third victory of the year, moving his record to 3-2. Reid Turner collected his second save of the season for Campbellsville. Turner worked a scoreless inning, including one punchout. Andres Duran led the Blue Raiders with two hits, while Keith Stewart drove in the lone Lindsey Wilson run with an RBI double in the fourth inning. Kleysen Gabruck and Tate Wischnack each had two hits for the Tigers.
Campbellsville broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning courtesy of a Wischnack two-run home run to left field. Stewart's double in the next half inning made the game 2-1 Campbellsville. Fernando Serrano gave the Tigers an insurance run in the top half of the seventh inning on an RBI groundout. The Blue Raiders went down in order in the seventh to end game one.
Game Two: Lindsey Wilson 5 v. (RV) Campbellsville 3
Blue Raiders' starting pitcher, Cassian Bartholomew, stole the show in game two. Bartholomew worked 7.1 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits, while inducing 14 fly ball outs. Bartholomew also struck out two batters while walking three. Bartholomew earned his second victory of the season, moving to 2-1 on the season. Brendan Bratcher worked the final 1.2 innings for Lindsey Wilson, earning his first save of the season. Bratcher allowed no runs on three hits, while striking out one batter. Campbellsville's starting pitcher, Tristin Crusenberry, pitched 5.1 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, while striking out five and walking three. Crusenberry received his first loss of the season, moving his record to 5-1 on the year.
Campbellsville scored first in game two via a Wischnack RBI double, scoring Gabruck. The Blue Raiders tied the game in the third inning on an Orion Hahm-Taklander double play that scored
Caden Davis. Lindsey Wilson took the lead the following inning via a
Drake Young home run, his first home run of the season. LWU extended the lead to 3-1 on a pinch-hit RBI single by
Jayden Keith, scoring Stewart. Hahm-Taklander drove in Duran on an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh, making the score 4-1. Campbellsville scored two runs on a throwing error by Bratcher, when he overthrew Young at third base after fielding a comebacker, to make the score 4-3 Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders were able to add an insurance run via a Davis RBI single in the bottom of the eighth, making the score 5-3. Bratcher was able to get the final out, stranding bases-loaded to give Lindsey Wilson its first conference win of the 2026 season.
The Blue Raiders are next in action on Tuesday at Egnew Park against Union Commonwealth (Ky.) at 2:00 p.m. CT.
