Baseball Heads to No. 6 Cumberlands for MSC Series

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team travels to Williamsburg, Kentucky, to face No. 6-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) in a three-game Mid-South Conference series Thursday and Saturday at Terry Stigall Field at Doyle Buhl Stadium.

Game one is scheduled for Thursday, 4:00 p.m. CT, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon CT.

The Blue Raiders enter the weekend series with a 12-16 overall record and 3-3 in Mid-South Conference play, while the Patriots enter 23-5 overall and 6-0 in conference play.


Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 7-6 victory against (RV) Oakland City (Ind.) on Tuesday. Orion Hahm-Taklander and Caden Davis lead the Blue Raiders. Hahm-Taklander is batting .380, with a 1.019 OPS and 16 RBIs. Davis is hitting .351 with a .914 OPS, with 17 runs batted in. Starting pitcher, Cassian Bartholomew, has allowed only three earned runs over his past two starts, going 12.1 innings, allowing nine hits, and striking out eight.


The Patriots are riding a seven-game winning streak, coming off sweeping back-to-back conference opponents, Cumberland (Tenn.) and Georgetown (Ky.). Cumberlands has three starters batting over .400 this season. Derick Andiarena leads the Patriots in batting average(.448), hits (56), runs scored (42), at bats (125), doubles (13), and RBIs (49). Andiarena also has 11 home runs on the season, while having an OPS of 1.317. Ronald Almanzar leads Cumberlands with 12 home runs, 1.437 OPS, and a .904 slugging percentage. Starting pitcher Wesley Culley is the ace of the Patriots' rotation. Culley is unbeaten in his eight starts with a record of 5-0, a 2.41 ERA, three complete games, and 43 strikeouts in his 41.0 innings pitched. 


Game one starts at 4:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, with games two and three scheduled for a doubleheader Saturday, starting at noon CT.
