Six Lindsey Wilson Men’s Wrestlers Set to Compete in NAIA Championships

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Six members of the Lindsey Wilson men's wrestling team are set to compete in the 2026 NAIA Wrestling National Championship, Thursday-Saturday at Heartland Credit Union Arena in Wichita, Kansas. 

Wrestling is divided into six sections, with two taking place each day. Session one begins on Thursday at 11 a.m. CT, with session two beginning at 6 p.m. CT. Friday begins at 11 a.m. CT with session three, which includes the championship quarterfinals and consolation rounds. Session four on Friday begins at 6 p.m. CT with championship semifinals and more consolation rounds. Saturday gets underway with Session five at 11 a.m. CT, with consolation semifinals and the placement round. Championship finals are scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on Saturday. 

Adrian Ayala is the highest-seeded wrestler, as he is the No. 1 overall seed in the 141-pound weight class. Ayala recently won the Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Tournament at the 2026 Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestling Championships in Bowling Green, Ky. Ayala's first matchup is against Jace Province from Oklahoma City. The winner of that match will face the winner of the No. 16 seed, Michael Trujillo of Arizona Christian, and Conner Kimbrough from Indiana Tech.

Cory Cannan is the second-highest-seeded wrestler for the Blue Raiders, as he is the No. 8-seeded wrestler in the 184-pound weight class. Cannan is scheduled to compete against Cade Gubler from Montana State-Northern. Also in the 184-pound weight class is the No.9-seeded Ashton Habeil. Habeil is set to compete against Dayne Stormer from Wayland Baptist (Tex.). If both Habeil and Cannan win their first-round matches, it will set up a Blue Raiders' battle in the second round. 

Alex Tabor is the No. 13-seeded wrestler in the 133-pound weight class. Tabor is set to compete against Kipp Cordes from Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.). The winner of that match will face the winner of the No. 4-seeded Vincent Citrano from Oklahoma City and Kai Carson from Eastern Oregon. 

Miguel Perez and Emmanuel Celestine are also competing. Perez, competing in the 285-pound weight class, is set to compete against the No. 8-seeded Shane Mattson from Montana State-Northern. If Perez were to pull off an upset, he would face the winner between the No. 9-seeded Luke Cox from Georgetown (Ky.) and Bruce Wagers from Rio Grande (Ohio). Celestine, competing in the 157-pound weight class, is set to compete against the No. 4-seeded Hagen Heistand from Concordia (Neb.). The winner of that match will face the winner between the No. 13-seeded Antwaun Burns from Campbellsville (Ky.) and Drake Jenkins from Central Methodist (Mo.).
