COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson baseball team closed out its three-game series against Lourdes (Ohio) on Monday, falling 6-4 at Egnew Park.
Orion Hahm-Taklender led the Blue Raiders (7-12) with a pair of hits and an RBI.
Caden Davis and
Andres Duran also drove in a run, and Duran recorded his fourth home run of the season. Easton Tally got the start, going one inning, allowing four hits, two runs, one walk, and a strikeout.
Levi Wade picked up the loss, going three innings while surrendering three earned runs on five hits.
Kyle Lambert allowed one hit in four innings, and
Gannon Herring pitched the ninth, allowing one run with three walks, one hit, and two strikeouts.
Lourdes (6-5) got on the board in the first inning on an RBI-single from Alex Dupree. The Gray Wolves increased their lead to 2-0 in the inning following a bases-loaded walk. Davis led off the home half of the first getting hit by a pitch. He then got himself into scoring position by stealing second.
Ty Croghan then drew a five-pitch walk, putting runners on first and second. Following a flyout,
Bryce Sidler was walked to load the bases. Davis came around to score on a wild pitch, making the game 2-1.
Lindsey Wilson tied the game in the third, taking advantage of a Lourdes error. After the first two batters were retired, Duran reached on an infield error. Back-to-back singles by Sidler and Hahm-Taklender tied the game at 2-2.
Following back-to-back two-out singles in the top of the fourth, Andrew Arnston hit a three-run home run to give the Gray Wolves a 5-2 lead.
Isaac Samano was walked with one out in the bottom of the fourth. Samano then stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher. Davis drove in Samano, trimming the deficit to 5-3. Lourdes added a run in the top of the ninth on a bases-loaded walk. Duran led off the bottom of the ninth with a solo home run, making it 6-4. Ryan Ragusa retired the next three Blue Raiders, securing the 6-4 win for Lourdes.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Tuesday, traveling to Pikeville, Kentucky, for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. CT at Johnnie Lemaster Field.
