KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Tennessee Relays on Saturday at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
The Blue Raiders closed out the two-day meet with multiple top-five finishes, NAIA standard marks, and several school records.
On the women's side,
Rosemond Owusu led the way with a standout performance in the field events. She placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.75 meters to meet a NAIA "A" standard while setting a new school record. Owusu also recorded a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.91 meters to meet a NAIA "B" standard, also setting a new school record.
Chenessa Davis added a strong performance on the track in the 100-meter hurdles. She qualified for the finals with a time of 13.97 in the prelims to meet a NAIA "B" standard, then followed with a fourth-place finish in the finals, clocking 13.95 to meet a NAIA "B" standard and set a new school record.
On the men's side,
Janer Caicedo Campaz led the high jump group with an eighth-place finish, clearing 1.97 meters.
Maxwell Wordui added a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 7.31 meters.
With the conclusion of the Tennessee Relays, Lindsey Wilson will return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 17–18, at the Georgia Tech meet in Atlanta, Georgia, and on Friday, April 17, at the Centre Twilight in Danville, Kentucky.
