Baseballl Travels to No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett for Three Game Series

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson (17-23) baseball team travels to Lawrenceville, Georgia, for a three-game series against No. 2-ranked Georgia Gwinnett (37-5). Game one is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. CT at the Grizzly Baseball Complex. Games two and three are scheduled for a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 12 p.m. CT. 

The Blue Raiders enter Friday having won four of their last five games, while the Grizzlies are coming off only their fifth loss of the season on Tuesday at (RV) Milligan (Tenn.).

First baseman Bryce Sidler and rightfielder Orion Hahm-Taklander leads Lindsey Wilson's lineup. Sidler has been on an absolute tear recently. Over his last six games, Sidler is 15-25 (.600), has seven runs scored, two doubles, a triple, two home runs, and 16 RBIs. Hahm-Taklander leads the Blue Raiders in batting average (.372), while scoring 27 runs and having 20 RBIs. 

On the mound, Kyle Lambert has a 4.08 ERA with 21 strikeouts over his 35.1 innings pitched, holding opponents to a .248 batting average against. Brenden Bratcher leads the team in wins with four. 

The No. 2-ranked Grizzlies are led by JJ Garcia, Payton Fort, and Peyton Watts. Garcia is batting .373, with an OPS of 1.011, to go along with 30 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. Fort is leading the team in home runs (7) and RBIs (50), while batting .420 with an OPS of 1.211. Watts leads the team in batting average (.435), OPS (1.234), and slugging percentage (.710), along with 57 hits on the season. 

Georgia Gwinnett's pitching staff is anchored by starting pitchers Peyton Castellow and Shane Anderson. Castellow is 5-0 with an ERA of 3.02, 53.2 innings pitched, 67 strikeouts, and holds opponents to a .259 batting average against. Anderson is 4-0 with an ERA of 3.79, 35.2 innings pitched, 51 strikeouts, and holds opponents to a .181 batting average against. 

Game one is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT on Friday, while games two and three are scheduled for a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. CT. All games will take place at the Grizzly Baseball Complex.
