COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team defeated Bethel (Tenn.) 11-10 Saturday afternoon at Egnew Park. The Blue Raiders finish the regular season with a 19-27 overall record and 8-9 in Mid-South Conference play. The Wildcats finish with an 11-28 overall record, while finishing 5-13 in MSC play.
The Mid-South Conference Tournament bracket will be revealed later this weekend.
Lindsey Wilson, starting pitcher Seth Galloway, went three innings, allowing two runs (zero earned) on three hits, walking two, and striking out two. Reliever, Cassian Bartholomew (4-2) earned the victory after going 2.1 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, and striking out one. Easton Talley earned his fourth save of the season. Talley went 1.0 innings, allowing only one hit.
Bethel starting pitcher, Alex Sterling, went 3.0 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits, walking one, and striking out one. Preston Gentry (0-2) received his second loss of the season for the Wildcats. Gentry went 1.0 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits, and walking one.
Orion Hahm-Taklander and Andres Duran led the way for the Blue Raiders. Hahm-Taklander went 3-5 with two runs scored and two doubles. Duran went 2-4 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and a double.
The Wildcats offense was led by Zayden McCaslin and Adriel Vega. McCaslin went 2-3, with three runs scored, an RBI, and two walks. Vega went 2-4 with a run scored, four RBIs, a double, and a home run.
Lindsey Wilson got on the board first in the bottom of the first courtesy of a Duran RBI double. The Blue Raiders added another run in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Hahm-Taklander.
The Wildcats tied the game at two in the top of the third inning on a Vega RBI groundout and an RBI single by Juan Diego Ramos. LWU went ahead 4-2 in the bottom of the third inning via an Isaac Samano RBI single and a Caden Davis RBI double.
Bethel responded in the top of the sixth inning with six runs. Carter Hedges hit a solo home run to cut the deficit to one, and McCaslin's RBI single tied the game at 4-4. Evan Cardwell gave the Wildcats their first lead of the day, 6-4, with a two-run double. Vega increased the lead to 8-4 on a two-run home run scoring Kaidan Ingram.
Down 8-4 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, Lindsey Wilson rallied for seven runs and took an 11-8 lead. Duran's RBI single started the comeback, followed by a two-run single by Amir Pineiro. Diego Andino tied the game at 8-8 with an RBI single, while singles by Drake Young and Bryce Sidler gave Lindsey Wilson the 11-8 lead. Bethel answered with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth to make it a two-run game, 11-9. The Wildcats were able to score one, but failed to complete a second comeback, as Lindsey Wilson held on for an 11-10 victory in the 2026 Mid-South regular season finale.
The Mid-South Tournament bracket will be revealed later this weekend, with all matchups being played at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
