COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, this Friday and Saturday to compete at the Tennessee Relays.
The Blue Raiders enter the weekend coming off a pair of runner-up finishes at the Centre College Invitational, with the men scoring 143 points and the women adding 127 points in Danville.
On the men's side, Lindsey Wilson will look to build off a record-setting performance in the high jump.
Janer Caicedo Campaz enters the weekend after clearing 2.06 meters to break the school record and meet the NAIA "B" standard. The Blue Raiders also bring depth in the event with
Jordan McIntyre,
Luis Groff, and
Dyse Harding.
Kairell Avery will be a key athlete to watch after sweeping both the 110 meter hurdles and 400 meter hurdles last weekend. Lindsey Wilson also showed strong depth in the sprints, led by
Nijae McBride,
Jakoby Graves, and
Demarcus Robertson, who all reached the finals in the 100 meter dash.
Robertson and Avery will also factor into the 200 meter dash, while
Miah Chatmond returns in the 400 meter dash after a runner-up finish. In the middle-distance events, Royce Mentor and
Mason Magyar will look to add points after strong performances in the 800 and 1500 meter runs.
In the field events,
Jayden Wentz leads the triple jump group, while
Elijah Bullock and
Bryan Coleman highlight the throws unit.
On the women's side, Lindsey Wilson will look to continue its momentum behind a strong sprint and hurdles group.
Chenessa Davis headlines the group after setting a school record and meeting the NAIA "B" standard in the 100 meter hurdles, while also contributing in the 400 meter hurdles.
Hannah Reid remains a top performer in the sprints after meeting the NAIA "B" standard in the 100 meter dash and placing second overall.
Jermani Morris also adds depth in the 200 meter dash.
The Blue Raiders will also rely on their relay strength after the 4x400 meter relay team claimed a win last weekend.
In the field events,
Reagan Cheatham leads the throws group after winning the hammer throw, while
Rosemond Owusu highlights the jumps after winning the high jump and placing in both the long jump and triple jump.
Jada McIntyre adds depth across the jumps group.
Lindsey Wilson will look to continue building momentum and improving marks against strong competition at the Tennessee Relays this weekend.
