SILVIS, Ill. -- The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team held steady at third following today's second round of the 74th Annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run.
The Blue Raiders shaved one stroke off yesterday's score to post a two-day team-total of 579 (290-289) at the midway point of the championship. Lindsey Wilson will be in the final group during the third round with tournament leader Oklahoma City and second-place Friends (Kan.) beginning at 9:40 a.m. CT.
Oklahoma City stands at 568 (290-278), followed by Friends' 576 (292-284).
Callum Waugh led the Blue Raiders today with an even-par 70 (35-35). He carded six birdies, including finishing the round with back-to-back birdies to leap to sixth place. Waugh is four strokes back of the tournament lead with a two-day total of 142 (72-70).
Stanley White is also in the top-10 at the halfway point.
White shot a 1-over par 71 today over the 6,703-yard, par 70 layout -- home of the PGA's John Deere Classic. He jumped 16 spots up the leaderboard into ninth place with a two-day total of 143 (72-71).
Philip Kittoff Jr. recorded his best round of the tournament, matching White's 71. Kittoff Jr. also made a positive move up the individual leaderboard, climbing 44 spots into a tie for 34th. He owns a two-day total of 147 (76-71).
Polakrit Pawichai shot 77 today while Toby White carded a 78.
Pawichai is tied for 46th with a 148 (71-77), and Toby White is tied for 93rd with a 153 (75-78)
Oklahoma City's Carter Ray leads the tournament at 2-under 138 (68-70).
Following today's round, the tournament was trimmed to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals and ties not on a top-15 team for the final two rounds.
The third round begins at 8 a.m. CT.
