(RV) Volleyball Opens Home Schedule with Four-Set Triumph

COLUMBIA, KY. – The (RV) Lindsey Wilson volleyball team opened its home schedule with a 3-1 victory over Indiana Southeast on Tuesday at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders set the tone defensively in the opening set, holding the Grenadiers to six kills and a -.088 hitting percentage. Lindsey Wilson countered with 11 kills while hitting .172, taking an early lead in the match. A decisive 9-1 run, fueled by six Indiana Southeast attack errors, extended the Blue Raiders' lead to 22-12 and created a comfortable cushion as Lindsey Wilson went on to take the set 25-18.

Indiana Southeast responded early in the second set, taking a 7-5 lead, but the Blue Raiders continued to find success offensively. Lindsey Wilson recorded 15 kills on 36 attacks with just four errors, posting a match-best .306 hitting percentage. The Blue Raiders also recorded two service aces from Luisina Sandrone Tais in the set to take a 2-0 lead.

The Grenadiers stayed alive in the match by claiming a back-and-forth third set, 28-26.

Lindsey Wilson closed out the match with another strong defensive effort in the fourth set, limiting Indiana Southeast to a .000 hitting percentage while recording eight blocks. Trailing 18-17, the Blue Raiders answered with a 6-1 run, highlighted by kills from Sandrone Tais and Rachel Kilchenmann, and rode that momentum to a 25-21 set victory.

Sandrone Tais led the Blue Raiders with 16 kills and added four service aces. Gabi Zuquelo finished with 11 kills, while Parker Sutherland added eight kills and five blocks.

Duda Becho and Brooke Robinson combined for nine blocks. Addison Janes paced the Blue Raiders with 21 assists, followed by Kilchenmann with 13.

Momo Hampton anchored the Lindsey Wilson defense with a match-high 25 digs. Kennedy Moone added 11 digs, while Janes finished with seven.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 5:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Aug. 20, traveling to Union Commonwealth (Ky.) as they look to build on their home-opening victory.
