McKENZIE, Tenn. – A go-ahead goal in the waning minutes of the match propelled No. 12 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer to a 2-1 road victory over Mid-South Conference foe Bethel (Tenn.), on Thursday night at Walter Butler Stadium.
A goal by the Wildcats' (0-5-1, 0-2-0 MSC) Jacqueline Carbajal opened the scoring in the 16th minute, giving Bethel an early 1-0 edge.
The Blue Raiders (4-1-1, 2-0-0 MSC) offense proved effective at creating chances in the first half, but could not cash in on their abundance of opportunities. Lindsey Wilson registered 12 shots in the first 45-minutes of the contest. The best chance in the opening period for the Blue Raiders came in the 39th minute when
Ona Monserrat Baca rifled a shot off the post, nearly missing the equalizer, the Wildcats headed into the break up 1-0.

Julia Marcolongo the ball on a run, where she found the back of the net to even the score at 1-1 for Lindsey Wilson.
Hunting for the go-ahead goal the Blue Raiders produced back-to-back shots by
Ashiat Naluggwa and
Norka Fergusson in the 77th minute, a save and wide shot resulted in the match staying deadlocked. Fergusson remained on the attack, sending a screamer off the post in the 82nd minute for a narrow miss. With the clock winding down to its final minutes, Lindsey Wilson's
Eva Cova delivered the game-winner in the 87th minute, scoring her first goal of the season in a big spot to seal the 2-1 victory for the Blue Raiders.
It was a 30-2 advantage in shots for Lindsey Wilson, including 18 in the second half. The Blue Raiders defense didn't allow the Wildcats to record a shot after halftime. With tonight's win Lindsey Wilson moves to 14-3 all-time over Bethel.
