PULASKI, Tenn. - The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team dropped a road match at (RV) Tennessee Southern on Tuesday at Grissom Patch.
The Blue Raiders (4-4-0) outshot the Warhawks (6-0-1) 18-16, but the Firehawks had more shots on goal. Ejay Peterson and Omar Yearwood both recorded a goal, while Denilson Macon was credited with an assist for both goals. Zahir Garcia recorded five saves, all in the second half.
Lindsey Wilson struck first in the 15th minute when the Blue Raiders were awarded with a free kick, which allowed Macon to pass the ball that found Peterson's foot, and he was able to score the first goal of the game. Tennessee Southern answered back in the 28th minute when David Danquah scored his fourth goal of the season off a pass from Devonte Allen.
The Firehawks carried that momentum from Danquah's goal in the second half. In the 70th minute, Nick Miske scored off a ball from Flippo Fregoli. Tennessee Southern did not let the Blue Raiders answer as Miske struck again in the 79th minute off a free kick from Chrisitan Sentz making the score 3-1. Lindsey Wilson would cut the deficit to one when Yearwood headed in a beautiful free kick from Macon in the 87th minute, but the Firehawks were able to play keep away in the final three minutes to secure the victory.
The Blue Raiders return home on Saturday, September 26, to take on Mid-South Conference rival Cumberlands (Ky.)
