SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team finished their season 11th at the NAIA National Championships that concluded on Friday at Blackthorn Golf Course.
The Blue Raiders -- who finished one stroke out of the top 10 -- started the day in 13th, but moved up two spots thanks to a final round 322. Lindsey Wilson ended the tournament with a four-day total of 1,321 (336-329-334-322) over the 5,903-yard, par 72 Blackthorn course.
Oklahoma City University won its second straight team title with a total of 1,215.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore
Beth Cooper led the Blue Raiders with a four-day total of 316 (82-79-79-76). The Russell Springs, Kentucky, native, finished tied for 16th in the 120-woman field, the best individual performance at the national tournament in the program's history.
Cooper, who tied for the fourth best individual round in Friday's final round, missed the all-tournament team by one stroke.
Sophomore
Jessica Robertson concluded the tournament with a four-day total of 326 (85-84-79-78). She tied for 35th.
Freshman
Aline Decker's 340 (85-87-87-81) was good enough for a tie for 72nd, while junior
Stacy McClain tied for 83rd with a 349 (84-84-94-87). Sophomore
Lindsay Roberts finished tied for 86th with a 350 (91-82-89-88) to round out the Blue Raider quintet.
Oklahoma City's Ashley Sholer earned the individual national championship with a four-day total of 296 (68-70-79-79).
The 11th place finish bested the program's school record set last season when the Blue Raiders finished 17th.
