COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Rayshawn Alexander and Brandon Clemons both finished with double-doubles and two other Blue Raiders flirted with adding more as the Lindsey Wilson College basketball team routed Ohio State University-Mansfield 137-54 on Sunday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center.
Alexander finished with 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds and Clemons poured in a game-high 29 points to go with 11 rebounds. Sophomore Kalen Kimberland tallied 19 points and eight rebounds, while junior Chase Spreen added 17 points and eight boards.
Mansfield (0-5) was led by Brett Emerine with 21 points and Jamall Marsh with eight.
Lindsey Wilson (1-0) opened the game on a 6-0 run led by a pair of baskets from Clemons. Mansfield shot back within three with a deep basket by Emerine, but that was as close as they would get the rest of the way.
Up 24-11, the Blue Raiders erupted on an 18-0 run to push ahead by 31 points with 10 minutes still to play in the first half. The lead ballooned to as many as 43 points late in the first half (65-22).
At halftime Lindsey Wilson led the Mavericks 67-25, before outscoring them 70-29 in the second half to finish with the blowout win.
Lindsey Wilson shot lights out in every facet of the game, finishing 63.4 percent from the field, 50 percent from the 3-point line and 80 percent on free throws.
Kimberland, Spreen and freshman Chase Cox all hit three shots from behind the arc and junior Justin Archie may have had the most complete performance with nine points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals.
Mansfield struggled the entire game. Despite a few bright moments from Emerine, the Mavericks shot just 32.3 percent from the field and 31.3 percent on 3-pointers. Mansfield was also outrebounded 63-17 and committed 23 turnovers with just seven assists.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Berea (Ky.) College.
