Men's Basketball Rips OSU-Mansfield 100-54

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Six players scored in double figures for the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team as it used power in numbers to beat Ohio State University-Mansfield 100-54 on Sunday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center.

Junior Josh White led all scorers with 17 points and senior Chase Spreen added 15 with three 3-point goals for Lindsey Wilson. Also scoring in double figures were junior Kalen Kimberland (14), junior Wesley Hanspard (12), junior Darren Ballou (11) and junior Milos Petrovic with 11 points.

Evan Mills and Todd Ferguson paced the Maverick offense with 12 points each, while Mills also paced them on the glass with seven rebounds. Mansfield didn't help itself with its three-point shooting, hitting just 3-of-18 shots for 16.7 percent.

The Blue Raiders never trailed in the game, jumping out to an 8-0 lead in the first three minutes and had already started the rout by halftime with a 51-28 advantage.

Lindsey Wilson had the advantage of resting its starters most of the second half, playing against a winded Maverick team that traveled with just eight players. Three Mansfield players were on the court for more than 30 minutes.

It wasn't a great shooting night for Lindsey Wilson, but to offset the average numbers the Blue Raiders demolished the Mavericks on the glass for a 61-28 advantage. Lindsey Wilson shot 48.8 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from behind the arc, knocking down 7-of-22 threes.

Hanspard and White finished off double doubles for the Blue Raiders with 10 and 11 rebounds, respectively.

Two areas the Blue Raiders also excelled were at the free-throw line, shooting 76.5 percent (13-of-17) and scoring in the paint, where it topped Mansfield 58-34.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday at Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University in Henderson, Tenn.
