COLUMBIA, Ky. – Matt Powers' touchdown catch in overtime brought Lindsey Wilson College within one of Cumberland (Tenn.), but Caleb Keeton's extra-point attempt hit off the right upright, giving the Bulldogs the 33-32 win on Saturday at Blue Raider Stadium.

Branden Cresap completed 24-of-38 passes to end with 211 yards and three touchdown tosses for the Blue Raiders, but also threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown in the first half. Cumberland's Broc Loveless completed just four passes in the win for 59 yards, instead making his best plays on the ground with a game-high 86 rushing yards.

The Bulldogs ground game also got a boost from running back Lemeco Miller with 75 yards on 18 carries, including one touchdown.

While it was a tough way to lose for Lindsey Wilson, just getting to the overtime period was impressive.

Cumberland led just 16-13 at the half, but outscored the Blue Raiders 10-0 in the third quarter to take a 26-13 lead.

Then the Blue Raider offense got to work in the fourth quarter. Lindsey Wilson scored 13 unanswered points in the period, highlighted by Cresap's pass to Ben Madon in the right corner of the end zone with 58 seconds left to play to tie the game. Madon finished the game with two touchdown receptions.

Loveless looked deep from his own 39-yard line during the final drive, but Randy Stites was there to pick off the pass at the 22 before being tackled at the buzzer.

Cumberland went on offense first in overtime, using three straight Loveless keepers to get into the end zone. Lindsey Wilson handed the ball off twice on its drive before Cresap found Powers alone for the score.

Keeton, who was 1-for-3 on the day on extra points, was taking over kicking duties for starter Mark Corbett who went down with an injury earlier in the game.

Lindsey Wilson ends its season with a 3-8 overall record and 1-5 mark in the Mid-South Conference West Division. Cumberland improves to 8-3 overall and 4-3 in MSC West play.
