MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Lebogang Moloto scored a hat trick to lead the top-seeded Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Southern Polytechnic State (Ga.) in the NAIA National Tournament's quarterfinals on Wednesday at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.

The Blue Raiders advance to Friday's national semifinals against No. 12-seed Belhaven (Miss.) who defeated unseeded Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) 3-2 today in another quarterfinal.

The three goals run Moloto's national tournament total to five and his season total to 16.

The opening half looked as if it would end in a scoreless tie as neither team could manage a legitimate scoring chance. That is until Moloto dribbled through the Hornet defense and beat Southern Poly keeper Dennis Kramer with 1:02 left in the half to give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead.

Southern Poly's Andre Santos tried to counter just before the half ended but Lindsey Wilson keeper Yuta Nomura stopped the only shot he faced in the opening 45 minutes to help the Blue Raiders maintain the 1-0 lead at the break.

Moloto wasted little time in the second half increasing the Blue Raider lead to 2-0. The 2011 national tournament's Most Valuable Player took a Yazeed Davids feed deep inside the penalty area and doubled the Lindsey Wilson lead in the 47th minute.

Despite being out-shot 15-3 in the second half, the eighth-seeded Hornets (15-6-1) tightened the game in 69th minute as Emeka Maduka scored from the top of the 18-yard box to cut the Blue Raider lead to 2-1.

A little more than four minutes later, Moloto ended any doubt the Blue Raiders would advance into the national semifinals with his third strike. This goal came off Philip Sandgren's fifth assist of the season.

The Blue Raiders ended the game out-shooting the Hornets 23-7, including a 15-3 advantage in shots on-goal.

Kramer concluded the match with 12 saves compared to Nomura's two.

With the win, Lindsey wins its 12th straight match and reaches its 13th national semifinal in 20 appearances.

Friday's kickoff is set for Noon CT at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.
