Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. - No. 23 Life (Ga.) upset the No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team 93-81 in the first day of the Lindsey Wilson Classic.
The first half went back-and-forth, with Life leading by as many as seven, but a Chase Cox three-pointer ignited a 9-2 run to tie the game up at 22-22. The Running eagles would fight back for a one-point lead, but the Blue Raiders would take back the lead to go into the break up 43-41.
Tony Menton led the Blue Raiders (4-4, 0-2) with 16 points, followed by Anthony Crenshaw with 15 and D'on Hall with 14. Tyrie Orosco collected 10 rebounds in the loss.
Lindsey Wilson extended its lead early in the second half, jumping ahead by as many as nine, but Life began to apply pressure and seized control for the remainder of the game. Menton was able to trim the lead to 78-73 with a basket at the 3:47 mark, but the Blue Raiders wouldn't get any closer.
Latraius Mosley recorded a 34-point, 11 rebound double-double to pace the Running Eagles (6-4). Caleb Hayes contributed 19 points while Philip Jenkins scored 17.
The Blue Raiders outshot the Running Eagles 50.9 percent to 48 percent, but Life forced 26 turnovers, a season-high for Lindsey Wilson. While Life was only able to net 15 points off those turnovers, the Running Eagles scored 50 of their points in the paint compared to 44 for the Blue Raiders.
Robert Morris (Ill.) defeated St. Catharine (Ky.) 84-73 in an earlier contest to kick off the Classic.
St. Catharine will take on Life for a 2 p.m. CT game on Saturday, followed by Lindsey Wilson's 4 p.m. CT game against Robert Morris.
