Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. – It took just 10 innings for the 14th-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team to win a pair of games against Calumet-St. Joseph (Ind.) on Saturday, beating the Crimson Wave 11-3 and 10-1 in two run-rule shortened contests at Lindsey Wilson Park.
First baseman Kristina Krupinski had a whale of a day, going a combined 6 for 6 with two home runs, four RBIs, a double and four runs scored. Outfielder Travatia Bowden also hit a home run in game one, while Madison Scott went 2 for 2 in the opener with two runs scored and a walk.
Ali Hart finished with four hits on the day, adding a pair of RBIs and three runs, while catcher Jane Egiazarova went 2 for 3 in game two with two RBIs and two runs.
Lindsey Wilson's (23-3) winning pitchers were Cheyanne Knepper (7-0) in game one with two hits allowed for two runs in four innings, while Jordan Hood (7-0) won game two scattering two hits for a run with six strikeouts in three innings.
The majority of Calumet's runs were scored on two home runs, pinch hitter Sarah Simchak hit a two-run shot in game one and first baseman Caitlin Wilcox hit a solo shot in the nightcap.
Lindsey Wilson left little doubt of the outcome in game one early, scoring five runs in the first innings, followed by five more in the third to cruise to the 11-3 win.
Game two started out differently as it was Calumet that took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after Wilcox's homer. The Blue Raiders answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning as Scott hit a single to left field that was bobbled, allowing Krupinski to score a run.
From there the Crimson Wave failed to score again as Lindsey Wilson added a run in the second and eight more in the third to seal the win.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action at 4 p.m. CT on Tuesday against Campbellsville (Ky.) at Lindsey Wilson Park.
