COLUMBIA, Ky. - No. 11 Lindsey Wilson softball returns to the friendly confines of Marilyn D. Sparks Park for a non-conference doubleheader against Ohio Christian on Tuesday, April 14.
The Blue Raiders (31-5, 9-3 Mid-South) are coming off back-to-back conference series victories over Bethel (Tenn.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) and are looking to add more to the win column after securing the program's first 30-win season in four years.
Lindsey Wilson is 8-1 this season against non-conference opponents at home. In those games,
Nora Epley is 11-for-28 from the plate with 10 RBIs, two doubles, and a pair of home runs.
Atavya Fowler and
Emerson McKinnis have each contributed eight RBIs on 11 hits in nine non-conference home games, while
Natalie Wandrie and
Hannah Carter join Epley with two home runs, apiece.
Wandrie enters the week on an 11-game hit streak, dating back to March 28. Her stat line across the stretch includes 17 hits, four doubles, two home runs, eight RBIs, five walks, and a 0.727 batting average -- 8-for-11 -- with runners in scoring position.
Ohio Christian (4-23) is led by Kayla McGhee, who is also on an 11-game streak of successfully reaching base. Her respective run started on March 31 and includes 15 hits, two doubles, and nine RBIs.
In the circle, Aleeseah Trimmer has appeared in a team-high 23 games for the Trailblazers, accumulating an earned run average of 5.57. In her most recent start against Hocking College (Ohio) on April 13, Trimmer pitched five scoreless innings, struck out five, and gave up one hit.
Lindsey Wilson and Ohio Christian have met one previous time on April 10, 2019. The Blue Raiders swept that doubleheader 13-0 and 11-0.
