GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team defeated Georgetown (Ky.) by a 2-0 mark on Wednesday night at iHigh.com Field.

A first half score by Jorim Chari and second-half successful penalty by Tom Moody were the difference makers for Lindsey Wilson (11-2-1, 6-0-1 MSC).

Georgetown slips to 3-10-0 on the year with a 1-5-0 mark in MSC play.

The Blue Raiders pressed early but were unable to score in the first 20 minutes of the game. Billal Qsiyer had a chance in the 15th minute when he blasted a shot towards goal from 25 yards out, but it sailed just over the crossbar.

Lindsey Wilson was able to break the scoreless tie in the 23rd minute.

Moody dribbled down the left flank drawing three defenders. He then passed back to the middle where Chari was racing down the field and met the ball near the penalty spot, blasting the ball into the back of the net for his first-career goal. It was Moody's team-leading sixth assist of the season.

The first half saw Lindsey Wilson record nine shots, four on goal. Along with Chari, Moody, Nedin Zukanovic and Yusuf Ackers each recorded a shot on goal in the first half.

The Tigers were limited to just one shot in the game heading into the break.

The Blue Raiders possessed the ball for the majority of the second half, but the Tiger defense held strong, holding Lindsey Wilson scoreless for the first 30 minutes after halftime.

In the 78th minute, a Lindsey Wilson player dribbled the ball from near the Blue Raider defensive line all the way down into the Georgetown 18-yard box before being taken down by a pair of Tiger defenders.

A penalty kick was awarded and Moody stepped to the spot and slotted home the ball to the lower-right corner of the net to give Lindsey Wilson a 2-0 lead.

The lead would be enough as the Blue Raider defense earned their eighth shutout of the season, including the seventh of the year for goalkeeper Dalyan Hawes.

Lindsey Wilson finished with a 19-4 shot advantage and 8-1 shot on goal advantage.

Moody finished with five shots on the night, three on goal.

Tyler Sexton tallied the lone shot on goal for the Tigers. Georgetown goalkeeper Tyler Hafer made six saves and allowed both goals.

The Blue Raiders are back in action when they return to Walter S. Reuling Stadium for their regular-season finale on Nov. 1, a 7 p.m. CT meeting with No. 6 Ashford (Iowa).
