COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Dalyan Hawes stopped three of the four penalty kicks he faced during a shootout tonight to help the Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team survive Lindenwood-Belleville's (Ill.) upset bid at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

The eighth-seeded Blue Raiders (14-2-3) advance 3-1 on PKs following a scoreless double-overtime tie between the two teams. Lindsey Wilson advances to face Texas at Brownsville on Dec. 1 in the NAIA National Tournament Second Round in Delray Beach, Fla.

Keane McIvor was the first to make the long, lonely walk from midfield to the penalty spot. McIvor used both posts to give Lindsey Wilson a 1-0 lead in the shootout. His shot ricocheted off the inside post, down the goal line and off the other post before finding the back of the net.

Hawes made his first stop diving to his right and cleanly punching away Sebastian Reyes' attempt to preserve the 1-0 Lindsey Wilson lead.

Lindenwood-Belleville keeper Nicolas Nicolaci -- who was outstanding during regulation and two overtime periods accumulating five saves -- made his only save of the shootout against Tom Moody to keep the Lynx (16-1-2) within one.

It would be the last save for Nicolaci.

Leonardo Ferri momentarily tied the shootout at 1-1 only to have Lindsey Wilson reclaim the lead on Adis Islamovic's make.

Hawes made back-to-back saves with his next two chances. He stopped Juan Santamaria's shot diving to his left and Fernando Carcamo's shot diving to his right to send the Blue Raiders into the next round.

Sandwich between the two saves, Lindsey Wilson's Anthony Tshimpi scored to increase the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-1. Hawes did the rest.

Both teams had their chances prior to the fateful shootout.

Lindenwood-Belleville put three shots on goal during the game while the Blue Raiders found the target five times. Each time, the goalkeepers were equal to the task.

The penalty kick win improves Blue Raiders' record to 3-1 all-time in shootouts at the national tournament. Prior to tonight, the last time the Blue Raiders were involved in a shootout was a 4-3 win over Azusa Pacific (Calif.) in the 2004 tournament.

Lindsey Wilson advances to face undefeated Texas at Brownsville (21-0-0) -- who defeated Rocky Mountain (Mont.) 2-1 today -- at 5:30 p.m. CT on Monday, Dec. 1 at the Seacrest Soccer Complex in Delray Beach.
