COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team cruised past Georgetown (Ky.), 4-0, on Friday night. A pair of first-year players scored goals for the Blue Raiders (7-4-1, 3-0-1 Mid-South Conference) in its victory over the Tigers (4-7-3, 1-3-1 MSC) at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

Cautious probing by both sides characterized the first 25-plus minutes of the game. Neither team registered a shot on goal until the 14th minute when the Tigers' JT Stephens drilled Alvaro Cortazar in the chest with his shot.

The Blue Raiders missed on a pair of opportunities early in the match. In the third minute, Israel Reyna sailed his shot over the crossbar. Three minutes later, Aleksi Pahkasalo missed the goal wide.

Lindsey Wilson finally broke through in the 27th minute on Stephane Dasse's first-career goal. Pahkasalo set up the score with a one-touch pass into the box, which Dasse collected and curled into the goal.

Andres Riquelme doubled the Blue Raider advantage in the 42nd minute. Andrew Revanales posted his first assist of the match by finding Riquelme in the box. The Asuncion, Paraguay native then sent a sweeping ball that beat Georgetown keeper Matthew Oster.

The Blue Raiders had the lion's share of possession in the first 45 minutes and outshot the Tigers 9-1, including a 4-1 edge in shots on goal.

Lindsey Wilson opened the second half intent on upping its margin but produced only near misses until the 85th-minute when Revanales made an impressive on-ball run to produce the third goal of the match. The junior took possession of the ball near the midfield line and made a 40-yard charge across the field before finishing with a power blast into the net.

Revanales posted a game-high four points with one goal and two assists.

Frank Bikoya capped the game with an 88th-minute goal – his first-career collegiate goal.

Cortazar stopped the only shot he faced to earn his fifth individual shutout on the year. It is Lindsey Wilson's sixth shutout this season.

The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team returns to action on Oct. 18 when it travels to No. 19-ranked Cumberland (Ky.) at 2 p.m. CT.
