COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Aleksi Pahkasalo scored two goals to propel the No. 23-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over visiting St. Andrews (N.C.) on Saturday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

The match was the second of the NAIA Southeast Classic hosted by Lindsey Wilson. Thomas (Ga.) defeated Bethel (Tenn.) 8-0 in tonight's first match.

Pahkasalo opened the scoring in the 14th minute off a Spencer Moeller assist to give the Blue Raiders (1-1) to 1-0 lead. Moeller served the ball from the midfield stripe to Pahkasalo at the top of the penalty box. The senior trapped the ball and one-timed it past St. Andrews goalkeeper Valentino Parini for the lead.

Pahkasalo added a second goal in the game in the final minute of the first half as he buried a penalty kick to send the Blue Raiders into the break with a 2-0 lead. Andrew Revanales beat a pair of defenders resulting in a foul deep in the penalty box. Pahkasalo drilled the shot into the lower right hand corner to double the lead in the 45th minute.

Pahkasalo leads the Blue Raiders with three goals this season. The goals were his 36th and 37th of his career.

Dioulde Niane provided an insurance goal for the Blue Raiders in the 50th minute.

Revanales lifted a soft cross onto a charging Niane from the right side. Niane guided the service into the net for his first career LWC goal for the 3-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Alvaro Cortazar earned his first career shutout, stopping four Knight shots. Parini collected six saves for the Knights (2-1) while surrendering all three Lindsey Wilson goals.

The Blue Raiders concluded the match with an 18-8 shots advantage, including 9-4 in shots on goal.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Sunday as the Blue Raiders host Thomas in the final game of the NAIA Southeast Challenge.
