DUBLIN, Ohio -- Taylor Bell earned a silver medal in the men's bowhunter and the Lindsey Wilson Archery team finished tied for eighth at the 2019 United States National Outdoor Collegiate Championships.
Bell lost in the gold-medal match by the slimmest of margins -- just one point on the final arrow -- to fall 131-130 to Union's (Ky.) Jeffrey Grubb.
Grubb overcame a five-point deficit after the first round in the five-end title match. The match ultimately came down to the last end and three arrows, where Grubb posted a 27 compared to Bell's 26.
The setback ended an incredible run for Bell -- who earned all-American honors on Saturday after posting the top score over the four rounds during qualification for today's elimination round.
As a team, the Blue Raiders finished the three-day competition with 24 overall points. Lindsey Wilson tallied 16 points from team competitions and eight points from individual competitions. Texas A&M captured the team title with 109 points.
Two other Blue Raiders reached the Round of 16 during Sunday's competition.
No. 15-seed Drew Canos won his second and third round matches after receiving an opening-round bye in men's recurve. He ultimately bowed out of the elimination tournament in the Round of 16, falling 6-0 to California Irvin's Kent Nitta.
Madison Richardson -- seeded 51st in the women's bowhunter tournament -- knocked off the No. 14 and No. 16 seeds before falling to the third-seed, James Madison's (Va.) Holly Mangum in the Round of 16.
The outdoor championships completes the inaugural season for Lindsey Wilson Archery. The Blue Raiders finished eighth at 3-D nationals and 13th at indoor nationals to go along with today's eighth-place finish.
