MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Lindsey Wilson baseball fell just short today in a doubleheader to No. 6-ranked Faulkner (Ala.) at Harrison Field.
The Blue Raiders dropped today's opener 1-0 and fell in the nightcap 3-1.
GAME 1
Chandler Harnage did not allow an earned run in a 1-0 loss to the Eagles (8-1) in a scheduled seven-inning game.
Harnage surrendered just three hits while striking out four in the loss.
An unearned run in the bottom of the third proved to be the difference in the game.
Lindsey Wilson matched Faulkner's hit-total of three in the game. Tyler Maskill, Austin Rayno and Kelvin Llanos each provided a hit for the Blue Raiders (2-6).
Faulkner's Zack Glines picked up the win with six shutout innings. He struck out five. Heath Olive struck out the side after coming on in relief in the top of the seventh to pick up the save. The Blue Raiders stranded runners on second and third to close out the game.
GAME 2
Lindsey Wilson out-hit the Eagles in the nightcap 5-4 but managed just one run in a 3-1 setback.
Faulkner scored in the first, third and fourth innings to secure the win.
Andy Rosales suffered the loss allowing two runs on one hit over his three innings of work. Josh Barnett and Jalen Riley combined to allow just one run on three hits over the final five innings.
Trailing 1-0, Lindsey Wilson pulled even in the top of the third inning.
Maskill drove home the Blue Raiders' lone run with a sacrifice fly to plate Cody Fallon to tie the game at 1-1. Chance Stayton opened the inning with a single up the middle before giving way to Fallon -- who came on to pinch run.
Maskill joined Stayton with a hit while Seth Price led the Blue Raiders with two hits in the game.
Hilyer Ford picked up the win for the Eagles in relief. He pitched five scoreless innings while striking out three.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at Noon CT as the Blue Raiders face Northwestern Ohio at Harrison Field.
