RICHMOND, Va. -- Lindsey Wilson archery finished a program-best fourth today at the USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals at Dorey Park.
The fourth-place finish bests the eighth-place finish in 2019. The championship did not occur in 2020 due to COVID-19.
The Blue Raiders tallied 94 during the three-day competition. Texas A&M won the national championships with 134 points followed by Cumberlands (Ky.) with 119 points and Union (Ky.) with 99 points.
During today's individual shoot, Natalie Brockman and Hunter Current each earned a silver medal.
Brockman fell in the women's compound championship 137-126 to Cumberlands' Hannah Moose. Brockman entered the shoot down as the 11th seed following qualification and earned her way to today's finals with wins over the third, sixth, and seventh seeds.
Current -- seeded fourth in the men's barebow after qualifying -- dropped a 7-1 decision to Emmanuel's (Ga.) second-seeded Darren Bearde. Before today's match, Current beat the No. 1, No. 5, and No. 13 seeds to reach the finals.
Today's two silver medals give Lindsey Wilson four individual medals during the championship. Britney McCarthy and Austin Taylor earned bronze medals on Saturday.
In today's mixed team competition, Lindsey Wilson earned two medals -- a silver and a bronze.
Olivia Harner and T Sanchez finished runner-up in the mixed recurve, falling to the top-seeded Texas A&M duo 5-4 in the finals. Current and Casey Stickfort earned a bronze in the mixed barebow. After falling in the semifinals, the Blue Raider pair bounced back with a 6-0 win over Kentucky Christian in the third-place match.
