COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson baseball traveled up the road today for a mid-week clash with in-state opponents Brescia (Ky.), falling 9-7.

The Bearcats produced eight runs in three straight innings to earn their second straight win.

Lindsey Wilson managed 16 hits in the game while the Blue Raider pitching surrendered 13 hits and issued four walks.

10 different Blue Raiders recorded a hit in the game, including Henry Paulino -- who also ended the game with two RBIs in the loss.

Jalen Riley got the start on the mound, allowing eight runs on 10 hits over 5-1/3 innings of work. He was one of three Blue Raider pitchers on the afternoon. Both Jake McDaniel and Cade Duncan saw action in the loss.

Brescia jumped out to an 8-0 lead through 3-1/2 innings. Lindsey Wilson cut into the deficit over the next three innings, getting the lead down to as much as three, but the early offensive push and a run in the seventh from the Bearcats were enough for them to outlast the comeback attempt from the Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Friday and Saturday for a Mid-South Conference weekend series with Bethel (Tenn.) at Egnew Park.
