Box Score 2 HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team wrapped up regular season action this afternoon with a doubleheader against No. 20-ranked Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), falling to 5-2 in game one and 11-1 in game two.
Game 1: LWC 2, FHU 5
The Blue Raiders took the lead in the first but were held scoreless in five of the seven innings as the Lions scored in three straight to win 5-2.
Lindsey Wilson managed just three hits in the game while the Blue Raider pitching surrendered seven hits and issued four walks.
Three different Blue Raiders recorded a hit in the game, including Nico Martinez-- who also ended the game with an RBI in the loss.
Cade Duncan suffered the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on four hits over three innings of work while both Edwin Quedeza and Jake McDaniel came on in relief in the loss.
Lindsey Wilson held onto a 1-0 lead through the first two innings after a sacrifice fly from Koby Wall but five runs from the Lions in the following three innings put the game to bed at 5-2, despite Martinez's homer in the fourth.
Game 2: LWC 1, FHU 11
The Blue Raiders once again started with a lead in the first but couldn't make the most of it as the Lions held them scoreless for the remainder of the contest.
Lindsey Wilson managed only five hits in the game while the Blue Raider pitching surrendered eight hits and issued seven walks in the loss.
All five hits from the Blue Raiders came from five different individuals, including Wall -- who was the only Blue Raider to record an RBI in the loss.
Nick Backstrom got the start on the mound, allowing six runs on five hits over three innings of work. He was one of three Blue Raider pitchers on the afternoon as Michael Frye and Kyle Collin came on in relief in the loss.
An RBI single from Wall gave the Blue Raiders the lead in the first but that was all the scoring offense they were able to produce as the Lions responded with five in the first before adding six more across the final three innings to run-rule the Blue Raiders.
Lindsey Wilson now awaits their seeding in the Mid-South Conference tournament.
