Box Score

DAYTON, Tenn. - At Senter Field, the Lindsey Wilson baseball team fell to Bryan (Tenn.) 20-5, in their midweek contest on Tuesday evening, snapping their three-game winning streak.

The Blue Raiders came into the game fresh off the sweep of (RV) Indiana Wesleyan, in which LWC scored over 12 runs in each game. They used a walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning in the first game, which later propelled them to a series victory. Lindsey Wilson produced 25 runs on 19 hits, but couldn't find that same offensive output against the Lions.

Bryan opened the scoring in the bottom first, using two solo shots from Parker Cosby and Danny Marquez, to put the game at 2-0 after the first frame. The Lions then put up an eight spot in the bottom of the second, using three two-run home runs and a double to left field, to plate two Lions on base.

Bryan continued to add to their lead in the fourth inning with two more home runs, plating three more runs, as they added on another run in the fifth from Cosby's second home run of the day.

The Blue Raiders' bats started to come alive in the top seventh as Jonathan Gallagher hit a solo home run to center field. Lucas Bault and Gabe Board then singled, with Thorne Gray coming to the plate, Gray hit a towering shot to right field, watching it fly over the fence and plate three Blue Raiders. Jordan Blick then came to the dish and added on a solo shot of his own to right field, giving Lindsey Wilson a five-run inning. The Lions would add on two more runs in the bottom of the seventh, then four more runs in the bottom of the eighth, pinning the contest at 20-5, in favor of Bryan.

Blick and Bault both finished the day 2-for-3, as Austin Rayno also finished with two hits on four at-bats. Gray led the Blue Raiders with three RBIs on a lone hit, coming from his home run.

Lindsey Wilson will be back on the diamond at Egnew Park, taking on visiting No. 15 Cumberlands (Ky.) in the conference play opener for a three-game series starting on Feb. 23, unfolding at 3 p.m. CT.
