RICHMOND, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's track and field team took first place at the EKU Spring Invite on Friday at the Tom Samuels Track.
The invitational featured 5 teams. LWC grabbed a total of 139 points to claim first place overall.
Justin Stearns recorded a 3:54.55 in the 1500-meter run, earning 6 points for the Blue Raiders.
In the 400-meter event
Royce Mentor and
Logan Bullock took first and second place with times of 50.99 and 51.51, respectively, grabbing a total of 18 points for Lindsey.
David Requejo and Trey Blanton earned the second and third place spots recording times of 11.20 and 11.22, respectively. In the point awarding places DeAnglo Patterson and Kelvion Wilson finished fifth and sixth.
In the 800-meter run, Marti Molins finished in fourth, clocking a time of 2:00.22.
Requejo and K'ron Sherald grabbed second and third in the 200-meter dash, with times of 22.57 and 22.67, respectively. Mentor, Blanton, Patterson, and Wilson scored points as well.
In the 4x400-meter relay the Blue Raiders finished in second place with Stearns,
Daniel Aikas, Molins and Bullock clocking a 3:30.53.
Justin Borden and
Luis Groff obtained second and fourth place in the High Jump event, with marks of 1.93m and 1.88m, respectively.
Rayne Jones-Foster won in the Long Jump event, with a 6.80m mark. Borden obtained third place with a 6.60m.
In the Javelin Throw, Jamison Graves grabbed third with a 28.84m mark. Andrew Cronk was able to finish second in the Discus throw with a 36.07m mark. Zach Segur grabbed fourth with a 34.58m mark.
Cronk and Segur grabbed the first to spots in the Shot Put with 12.40m and 11.96m marks, respectively.
The Blue Raiders will be competing next at the Centre Invite on March 30 in Danville, Ky.
