ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Rosemond Owusu and
Janer Caicedo Campaz earned All-American honors on the first day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Wednesday at Karl Straus Track.
Owusu took home All-American honors in the women's long jump with a third-place finish. She becomes the first Blue Raider in program history to achieve All-American status in the long jump. Owusu finished with a school-record jump of 5.99 meters in her final attempt to secure the third-place finish.
Campos earned All-American status in the men's high jump tying for sixth. He becomes the first Blue Raider in program history to earn All-American honors in the high jump. Campos hit his mark on his second attempt at 2.03 meters.
Dyse Harding finished 13th with a jump of 2.03 meters. Harding did not hit the mark until his third attempt.
D'Antonio Warren finished third in his heat and 10th overall in the men's 200-meter prelims with a time of 21.16. In the 400-meter hurdle prelims,
Kai Avery finished 26th with a time of 55.03.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of
Maxwell Wordui, Warren,
Nijae McBride, and
Cambell Rawlings finished third in their heat and 14th overall with a time of 40.64. In the women's 4x100-meter relay,
Jermani Morris,
Hannah Reid,
Chenessa Davis, and
Promise Amasiatu finished third in their heat and 16th overall with a time of 46.56.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the track for day two of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at 11 a.m. CT at Karl Straus Track.
