ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Selena Johnson and
Maxwell Wordui each earned All-American honors on day two of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Thursday at Karl Straus Track.
Heading into the final day, the Blue Raider women sit in sixth with 11 points. British Columbia sits atop the women's standings with 44 points. On the men's side, Lindsey Wilson is tied for 21st with six points. Cumberlands leads the men's standings with 38 points.
Johnson earned All-American honors in the women's triple jump. She becomes the second Blue Raiders in program history to earn All-American status in the event and first since 2015. Johnson finished fourth with a jump of 12.06 meters. She recorded her All-American distance on her third jump.
Wordui took All-American status in the men's long jump. He earns his second consecutive All-American honor in the event. Wordui finished fourth with a jump of 7.44 meters, which he achieved on his third jump.
Hannah Reid posted the fastest qualifying time in the women's 400-meter finals. Reid finished with a school-record time of 53.52 to finish first. She competes in Friday's finals at 2:40 p.m. CT.
Reid also qualified for the finals in the women's 100-meter. She finished fifth with a time of 11.81. Reid competes in the finals on Friday at 2:55 p.m. CT.
Promise Amasiatu finished 19th with a time of 12.10.
Chenessa Davis advanced to Friday's finals in the women's 100-meter hurdles, finishing in sixth with a time of 13.82. Davis competes in Friday's finals at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Wordui and
Cambell Rawlings qualified for Friday's finals in the men's 100-meter. Wordui finished fourth with a time of 10.42, while Rawlings posted a seventh-place finish in 10.48. The duo competes in the finals at 3 p.m. CT.
Kai Avery finished 19th in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.75.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Reid,
Ta'shya Cramer,
Elaina Holliday, and
Sancia Smith finished with a time of 3:50.69 to place 14th.
The third and final day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships gets underway on Friday morning at Karl Straus Track.
