Pair of School Records Fall at Commodore Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Lindsey Wilson men's track & field team competed at the Commodore Challenge at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility on Saturday.

As a team, the Blue Raiders totaled six NAIA standards and there was also two school records broken. 

Marti Molins set a school record earned an "A" standard in the 1,000-meter.  He finished fifth with a school record time of 2:25.91. Nick Cummins finished just behind him finishing in 2:40.25. 

David Requejo set a school record in the 300-meter as he finished 7th, with a record time of 36:15.

Cambell Rawlings finished seventh in the 60-meter with an "A"  standard time of 6.76. Dontae Rucker and Maxwell Wodui came in second and third earning a "B" cut in the long jump. They recorded jumps at 7.13 and 7.12 meters.

Lorenzo Luces finished first in the triple jump, recording 15.17 meters earning an "A" standard. Tremaine Brown leaped into fourth place with a B cut jump of 14.63 meters. 

Daniel Otibo placed third in the 400-meter with a time of 49.00. Luis Groff finished fourth in the high jump with a distance of 1.90 meters. Kai Avery posted a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles finishing in 8.58. Justin Stearns finished seventh in the mile with a time of 4:14.24

In the final event, Miah Chatmond, Rawlings, Otibo and Requejo finished eighth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:23.04

The Blue Raiders will be back for the Bellarmine Open on Friday, Jan. 17 in Louisville, Kentucky.
