Danville, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's track and field team finished seventh at the Centre Indoor Showcase Saturday at Champions Hall.
The Blue Raiders tallied 40.5 points to finish in seventh place. Campbellsville (Ky.) sat atop the team standings with 115 points while hosts Centre finished second with 104 points.
Daniel Otibo had an outstanding day, securing two first-place finishes. He claimed victory in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.10. Later, Otibo teamed up with
Miah Chatmond,
David Requejo, and
Enric Fernandez to win the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:25.45. Their performance set a new event record, breaking the mark previously held by the Blue Raiders during the 2024 season.
Ian Rosario Alicea qualified for the finals of the men 60 meter hurdles as he held a time of 8.78 to advance. In his finals event, Rosario out did his prelims performance and placed second at a time of 8.61.
Luke Birdsong qualified for the finals in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.06. In the finals, he matched his qualifying time of 7.06 and secured sixth place.
Dyse Harding finished eighth in the long jump with a distance of 6.26 meters and finished
ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.37 meters.
The Lindsey Wilson track team will compete in the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational at Norton
Healthcare Sport and Learning Center on Friday, January 31.
