COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson freshman Annabel Fletcher was named the Mid-South Conference women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

The Boonsboro, Maryland native becomes the second different Blue Raider to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors in as many weeks and collects her first career weekly honor.

Fletcher stepped into the role of goalkeeper for No. 22 Lindsey Wilson last Thursday in place of teammate Demi Serman, who sat out with a concussion. Normally positioned in the Blue Raiders' defensive midfield, Fletcher made six saves to help preserve a 5-2 victory over (RV) Tennessee Southern.

The emergency keeper's performance pushed Lindsey Wilson's winning streak to three matches.

Annabel and her Blue Raider teammates host Bethel (Tenn.) at 5 p.m. CT on Tuesday, October 21.
