COLUMBIA, Ky. -  Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Gus Burtts has been named the Mid-South Conference Men's Archery Shooter of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday.
 
Burtts, of Lynchburg, Tennessee, earns weekly honors for the first time in his career and becomes just the third men's archer in program history to earn the recognition. He is the first men's archer to be named MSC Men's Shooter of the Week since Parker Braddock earned the award on January 21, 2025.
 
Burtts earned a pair of podium finishes, including a national championship at USA Archery Collegiate 3D National Championships.  He took home the national championship in men's fixed pins. Burtts tallied a score of 474 while carding 24 12s to capture gold in the 90-person field. He finished with 11 more points than runner-up Jackson Ratajczak of Cumberlands (Ky.).
 
He and Makenna Langley earned bronze in mixed fixed pins with a score of 827. Burtts reached the quarterfinals in the men's fixed pins team round and the mixed equipment round. Burtts was responsible for 19.5 points for the Blue Raiders and helped lead Lindsey Wilson to a fifth-place finish with 62 points.
