GRIMES, IOWA – The Lindsey Wilson men's wrestling team competed at the Grand View Open on Saturday.

Wyatt Davis, competing in the Freshman/Sophomore 145 lb division, finished his tournament with three victories and two defeats. Davis won his first match against Jaden Kondor of Waldorf (Iowa) by a 12-3 major decision. Davis was then victorious over Ethan Peterson of Baker (Kan.) by SV-1 9-6. Davis won his third straight match by tech fall over Daniel Stanfield of Marian (Ind.). Davis ended up falling in his next two bouts. 


Stanford Thompson was another Blue Raider who performed well on Saturday. Thompson finished  in fourth  in the 197 lb Freshman/Sophomore division. Thompson  lost his first match to Alex Nunez of Avila (Mo.). Thompson then  won his next match against Javier Franco of Siena Heights (Mich.) by fall. Stanford wound up winning his next six matches to go on a streak of seven consecutive wins to win the wrestle-back consolation bracket. 


Emmanuel Chelestin, competing in the 157 lb open division, finished in 5th place after recording a 4-2 tournament record. Chelestin won his first match by a 14-2 major decision over Texas Wesleyan's Gavin Holland. His next match, Chelestin earned a 13-5 major decision over Ruben Silveyra, from Grand View (Iowa). In the quarter-final match, Chelestin  defeated Aden Graves of Providence (Mont.) by a 7-5 decision. Chelestin  lost the semi-final match to Grand View's Bryce Boumans. Chelestin won the fifth-place match by no-contest against Aden Graves.

Jaiden Moore, 165 lb open division, finished his tournament with four victories and two defeats. Jaylin Bien-Aime finished with three wins and two defeats in the Freshman/Sophomore 285 lb division. Antwane Webster finished with three wins and two defeats in the Freshman/Sophomore 157 lb. division.

The Blue Raiders are back in action for the Lucha Open in Douglasville, Georgia on November 22.
