RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The Lindsey Wilson men's wrestling team defeated Rio Grande (Ohio) 42-3 in a Mid-South Conference dual on Friday at Newt Oliver Arena.
The Blue Raiders took home victories in nine of the 10 weight classes. Lindsey Wilson recorded four decisions, three pins, a major decision, and a tech fall.
Jorge Bravo got the dual started with a 16-1 tech fall over Josh Morrison at 125 pounds, giving Lindsey Wilson a 5-0 lead.
Arlo Laxton recorded a first-period pin of Trey Allen at 133 pounds.
Adrian Ayala (No. 4 at 141 pounds) pinned Jaydon DeHart in 1:01, increasing the Blue Raider lead to 17-0. Lindsey Wilson took a 23-0 lead after a Rio Grande forfeit at 149 pounds.
The RedStorm picked up their lone win of the night at 157 pounds with Mackandle Freeman picking up a 5-4 decision over Brand Irigoyen.
Jaiden Moore earned an 11-8 decision over Pate Eastin in the 165-pound match.
Kriecg Roe pinned John Walters in the first period at 174 pounds, increasing the Lindsey Wilson lead to 32-3.
Cory Cannan (No. 13 at 184 pounds) picked up an 8-1 decision over Justin Bartee (No. 17 at 184 pounds). Jostyn Zayas earned an 8-3 decision over Ashton Simison at 197 pounds.
Miguel Perez closed out the dual with a 15-4 major decision over Bruce Wagers (No. 18 at 285 pounds).
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Saturday for the Mustang Invitational in Conway, Arkansas.
