School Records Fall on Day Two of NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams completed day two of the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe on Friday.

The men's team sits in fourth place with 14 points, while the women's team is in 33rd place.

On the women's side, Eliza Hagens earned the Blue Raiders' only point, finishing eighth in the 3000-meter race walk with a personal-best time of 15:35.56 in the finals, improving on her time from the previous day. 

Rosemond Owusu competed in the high jump, placing ninth with a school-record leap of 1.68 meters. Kayly Guthrie ran the 60-meter dash prelims, just missing qualifications by finishing ninth with a time of 7.59. However, she later advanced to Saturday's 200-meter dash finals after clocking a time of 24.70 seconds.

On the men's side, Marti Molins made history by setting a school record in the 1000-meter run prelims, finishing first with a time of 2:25.71. Molins will compete in Saturday's 1000-meter finals, hoping to bring a national championship home to Columbia. Maxwell Wordui also made a strong impact, earning five team points with a fifth-place finish in the long jump, leaping 7.32 meters. Tremaine Browne placed ninth in the same event, jumping 7.18 meters. 

The final day of the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships will begin at 11:30 a.m. CST on Saturday, March 1.
