COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete
Hallie Roberts is the Mid-South Conference softball Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
The Freshman earns her first career weekly accolade after collecting two wins in two starts last week. She is the second consecutive Blue Raider pitcher to garner the honor, joining
Kayden Murray, who was voted to the award last Monday.
Roberts' first appearance of the week came on Tuesday at Brescia (Ky.). She dealt seven solid innings for the complete-game effort and allowed no runs on just two hits while striking out a career-high nine Bearcats.
Then, on Thursday, Roberts posted four complete scoreless innings at Georgetown (Ky.) to go along with four strikeouts and one hit surrendered.
In 11 appearances so far this season, Roberts holds a 4-4 record and a 3.02 earned-run average, which is seventh-best in the Mid-South. She has three outings of at least four innings pitched with zero runs and two or fewer hits given up. Roberts also ranks third in the conference for total strikeouts with 36.
Hallie and her Blue Raider teammates are back at Marilyn D. Sparks Park this week to host Cumberlands (Ky.) in a three-game series beginning at 4 p.m. CST on Friday, March 21.
