Men’s Track & Field Wraps up Competition at Multiple Meets

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's outdoor track and field team wrapped up competition at three different meets on Saturday.

The Blue Raiders strongest showing came at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, Florida with four national standards and a school record. Lindsey Wilson also competed at the Gordon Bocock Invitational hosted by Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and the Lee University Fast Break Athletics Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee.


At the South Florida Invitational,  Maxwell Wordui added onto his outstanding season finishing first in the long jump, leaping 7.73 meters, setting an NAIA 'A' standard. Tremaine Browne placed eighth as he leaped 7.23 meters setting a NAIA 'B' standard. Browne also competed in the triple jump where he came in fifth jumping 14.61 meters setting a 'B' standard. 



Daniel Otibo set a Lindsey Wilson school record in the 400-meter, setting a time of 47.25 seconds while also setting an NAIA 'A' standard. 



The Blue Raiders competed at Cumberlands where Dyse Harding competed in the high jump where he leaped 1.90 meters. Luis Groff finished right behind him coming in second place with a leap of 1.65 meters. 



Logan Bullock finished first in the 800-meter with a time of 1:56.79. Kai Avery came in fourth and fifth in the 400-meter and 110-meter hurdles with a times of 52.21 and 15.90, respectively. In the long jump, Dontae Rucker came in second where he jumped 6.60 meters. Summy Manirakiza and Harding came in fourth and fifth jumping 6.34 meters and 6.20 meters. 



In the field events, Leeshawn Johnson took second in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.40 meters. Bryan Coleman finished third at 41.61 meters and also earned fifth in the shot put with an 11.68-meter throw. Jamison Graves rounded out the throws with a fifth-place finish in the javelin, launching 30.36 meters. 



Justin Stearn and Marti Molins competed at Lee in  the 800 with Molins finishing 10th with a time of 1:53.15 and Stearns finishing 20th with a time of 1:54.72. Stearns and Molins also competed in the 1,500 meter where they finished 23rd and 28th at a time of 3:55.56 and 3:58.33. 



The Lindsey Wilson men's outdoor track and field team will return to action on April 25 at the Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.
